Guys! Can you stop trying
to do this. When your sites work, your cpanel will work. I
have a few things to sort out before I can reconnect all of
you!! Enough already! | |

| Look, if your sites dont
work, cpanel dont work! I need to replace hard drives, and I
need to do a few checking thingys before hand. This has
nothing to do with propergation or anything like
that. | |

Awww, man. Was this server
built an an ancient burial ground or something?
We
have gone from this:

re-awating activation. | to this:

| I need to replace hard
drives | So
sometime between Jack finding the file and now one or more
hard drives need replacement. (Possibly even the drive on
which the aforementioned file was located.)
And last time an unexpected
downtime for a security update (os, apache, mysql? can't
remember) went seamlessly into a 5 day ISP shutdown. At this
rate soon we'll get the news that Jack was hit by lightning or
something. ...or maybe it will go the other way and he'll win
the lottery. Hey, Jack! Don't forget about the little guys
when you're rich!
I wonder if
ThePageCannotBeDisplayed.com is taken.... at least nobody
could tell if I was down then.....

| Heh. Dont worry. When I
found the 'item' I had to do hard drive replaces etc.. just to
please the bloody ISP, so now I have to re replace, if that
makes any sence! | |

I still want
to know who this ISP is. They must be a pretty good deal for
you to put up with this....

I am a portal administrator at a University with 30000
students. I run serveral servers, and meet regularly with the
technical staff that handles our main backbone connection.
We don't have a choice
as to our internet connection, since we are educational.
Presumably you do have
a choice. Unless internet access is a public utility in the UK
and that you only have one provider to choose from, you have
access options. You don't have to be happy about your ISP it
to put up with it, but remaining a customer means you are putting up with it. If
not, can we assume that you are seeking another ISP?
I
may not own my own webhost, but please don't talk down to
me. | |

Ach em... I believe you
were talking down to me before. Now, we are not a university,
we are a hosting company. ISP's can cut off connection from
anyone they want. Now, before they would allow be to get my
connection back, I (me) wanted to change hard drives as a
precaution. Now, for my own peice of mind. Now, I did this for
a few reasons, that I will not go into now. The ISP is pinging
because it is hooked up to an empty hard drive with cPanel on
(so, technically it isnt empty), but im transfering files
now. | |
