Hey guys, How often does the server
go down? I've only been on JC-host for a few weeks, and
already it has been down a lot. Is this normal? Or is
JC-host just going through a bad luck streak
lately? | I
don't know I am a newbie here as well. I signed up no more
than 2 weeks ago and apart from a couple of short periods of
downtime either on mysql or apache this one is the worst one I
have experienced. | |

The server was working great for
more than 3 months without any downtime, so I think JC-host
just going through a bad luck streak lately

Right. Update!
Just
recieved an email from my ISP. Apparently, some wierdo is
hosting child pornography on the servers... *sighs* I have
located the file, and I am now re-awating activation.
Sorry guys. Just got home from work.

must mean February, March and almost all of April for uptime,
because this service has only been around since the beginning
of February and we're barely three weeks out from the last 5
day outage. It feels like I've been a customer here forever,
but it's only been a little over a month!
Jack, since
other hosts are located on this ip and since the offending
file was on a server of yours, does this put you in a bad
position legally? | |

But surely this reflects
not only on you and us Jack, but other people that run their
sites from the same IP address. This is really thick from the
ISP to take action without informing you first.
Anyway
whatever happened happened. Any ETA on the activation
yet? | |

If you dont like it, you can always find another one for a
dollar a month,
oh wait...
There ARENT ANY!
You wanna go pay a dollar a month for like a meg of
space and a gig of bandwidth go!
I think we would be
happier than to have you swearing all over the
forums. _________________ mmmm.... hosting

Of course I don't know your
arrangement with the ISP and whether they are allowed to touch
the server (which I presume not) but still for them to shut it
down....
And that %$@%$ person that did this what the
hell was he/she thinking of? That he/she won't get caught?
There are ISPs that offer adult hosting. Let him/her go there
but I don't think that he/she will find ANY ISP that is
willing to host child pornography.... Some people!

I don't know about you
guys, but I'm getting really annoyed at Jack's
unresponsiveness to some threads, and I'm not just talking
about downtime here.
Yes, I understand he has a job. I
have one too. I work 40 hours a week, 8 hours a day for 5
days. But you know what? I still manage to read all my e-mail,
read all the forums I go to, read messages on newsgroups, and
send any necessary replies both before AND after work.
This is the second time we've had prolonged downtime
since I've signed up. I've had MySQL go down on me.
You got one more strike. If this happens again, I'm
cancelling my account. This is re-fucking-diculous.
EDIT: You should really get a new ISP. A good ISP
wouldn't hold you and your servers accountable for what your
customers decide to put up.

This is horrible,
Jack mabey there would be away to help prevent the ISP
from shutting down the server, like... mabey list all of the
sites, that way we can visit them, and if we see something
that breaks the ToS then we can report it here.
Then
hopefuly you will be able to terminate there account/site, ect
before the ISP finds out...
I dont know... Good Luck
Jack! Keep up the great
hosting! _________________ Jc-Host.com, is the Greatest
